Statement
Dennis was born in Birmingham and studied painting at Birmingham College of Art in the 1950s. He has had a long career spanning forty years, has exhibited widely in the U.K. and abroad and completed a Master's degree in the 1990s.
Dennis' undoubted strengths lie in his sharp draughtsmanship and his acute awareness of vibrant colour combined with tightly structured compositions. Though very much at home with a range of subject matter and media his more recent work has centred on the traditional still life, often using objects collected on world travels. A traditionalist, happiest when exploring the physical world, Dennis enjoys using a visual stimulation as his creative springboard.
