Charity Auction
at Purple Gallery
at 8.00 pm on Tuesday 5th December

Purple Gallery will AUCTION a limited edition print, entitled "My Secret Garden" on the evening of Tuesday 5th December at 8.00 pm to raise money for the Birmingham Focus on Blindness charity. The print has been donated by Birmingham born artist Stephen Farley, who became aware of the charity after an industrial accident. Stephen produces work that expresses his own vision and perception following the accident, which impaired his eyesight.

 

 

 

 

 

The auction being held at Purple Gallery will coincide with the Charity's annual "Tree of Lights" event which will take place at 7.15 p.m. on Bournville Green. For further information go to:

Christmas Exhibition 15/11/06 - 27/1/07

Our Christmas Exhibition opened on 15th November and features new artist Louise Balaam from Kent, Hong Kong born Pak Keung Wan, and the work of more established artists at Purple Gallery: Trinidad Ball, Colin Carruthers, Terence Clarke, Steve Graham, Emma Hardicker and Lesley Whelan. The exhibition also includes a first series of gouache paintings by Ian MacCulloch, who is well known for his lithographic prints of English landscapes.

Jewellery Event

The jewellery event on Friday 1st December was enjoyed by all who attended and gave people the opportunity to meet Alice Gow - one of Purple Gallery's jewellers.
Alice has recently designed an exciting new contemporary range of anodised aluminium and silver pendants, earrings and cufflinks which are available in 15 different colours.

New Bronzes by Rachel Wood

Rachel was brought up in Rutland and from a young age has been inspired by the country- side and its wildlife. She now lives near Cambridge, sharing her home with her dog Flint and many animals and birds - which are all a constant source of inspiration for her work.

The Arts Council - Own Art Scheme

Any original work of art may be purchased from Purple Gallery using the Own Art Scheme - made available by the Arts Council. Paintings, Jewellery, Ceramics and Sculpture, valued between £100 and £2,000 may be purchased via the Scheme. For example: cost of gift = £250 - £25 per month 10 months interest free credit.
